This term we have been learning how to write an information report.
We know the features (it is factual and detailed) and structure (paragraphs and subheadings) of an information report and have been doing research on spiders so that we have prior knowledge on the subject.
When writing about animals, some useful subheadings may be:
- appearance
- habitat
- movement
- food
- behavior
- lifecycle
Your task is to choose a particular type of spider eg. Wolf Spider, Tarantula, Funnel Web Spider, Silver Tail, Goliath Bird Catching Spider etc and write an information report on it.
Use the information you gathered through your research. The usual blog guidelines apply.
Ciao, my name is Ola and Im going to talk about one particular spider called the White-tailed Spider.
ReplyDeleteA White-tailed Spider has 8 legs, White tail and venom in itself. Some Spiders have more than 2 eyes which I find very ugly. White-tailed Spiders have very long legs. This white- tailed spider is very hairy. A Spider has 8 legs, fangs, brains, lots of eyes and a waste pack.
A White-tailed spiders web is made out of silk which is the most strongest substance known. Silk is sticky, yuck but very good for spiders. A White-tailed Spiders web is for spiders to lay their eggs so the sticky web can hold the eggs from falling off. A White-tailed Spiders web is not strong for humans because humans are way heavier than a White-tailed Spider.
A White-tailed Spider eats meat. They catch their prey with their fangs because their fangs are very sharp and swore. They can catch their prey alive which means that a Spider catches its food alive. Before a Spider eats its prey it has to put its venom or poison and turn their prey into liquid and sucks it up. Spiders let yuck insects go because spiders think their disgusting .

They catch their preys by there Fangs, A White Tailed Spider uses it Fangs because they have Venom in it's fangs. A White Tailed Spider makes there webs out of Silk. A White Tailed Spider lets yuck spiders go because they don't like it.

lifecycle-
The female wasp will paralyze the spider by stinging it. She then digs a hole and puts the spider and an egg into it. When the egg hatches, the baby wasp will eat away at the paralyzed spider. The spider could stay buried alive for many days before the larvae hatch.
Behavior-
All Tarantulas have an interesting way of defending themselves. They have hairs on their abdomen (stomachs) that have sharp little barbs, or pokey things, on them. When threatened, the spider will rub these hairs with their legs and shoot them at their predator.
